In 1575 Santal converted to Buddhism. In 1579 the Thai Empire again went to war with Bengal (dark green) over another diplomatic insult, this time taking Ganges from them in 1582. Emphasis was now placed on catching up with China (yellow) in military technology, which was achieved in 1599. In 1600 the Thai Empire went to war with the Chinese, taking Chin and Mandalay from them in 1602. After another war from 1609 to 1611 Assam and Wenshan were taken, leaving China with no more Buddhist provinces. Meanwhile Thai infrastructure was improved with the promotion of Chief Judges in all provinces. By 1620 income was at 111.6 per month.
