Ayutthaya 1670

The former Tibetan capital Lhasa

In 1675 the Thai Empire went to war against Bengal (dark green) and Manchu (blue green). By 1677 they had taken all the Bengalis' provinces except their capital in Howrah, and had taken Sichuan Pendi from Manchu. In 1677 Jaunpur (bright green) accepted annexation into the Thai Empire. In 1683 Manchu reunited with China (yellow) and the Thais once again had a powerful enemy to the north. They decided to expand southwards, attacking Brunei (grey) first in 1694 then again in 1709. In the first war they took Ajeh, Riau and Jambi, while in the second they took Sarawak, Bandjarmasin, Selatan and Kalimantan. Two years after China issued a trade embargo in 1715 the Thais declared war, taking Guangzhou and Xining from the Chinese in 1719. By 1720 the monthly income of the Empire had risen to 210.5.
